WE LOVE SLOPPY JOES I HAVE 2 DIFFERENT VERSIONS TO OFFER YOU.
Recipe 1: In a 3 quart sauce pan, brown 1 lb. ground beef or ground turkey works well also, add 1 small onion, finely chopped. Drain off the excess grease and return to the sauce pan. Add 1 cup tomato catsup, 1/4 cup brown sugar dissolved in 1 cup of water, salt and pepper to taste, 1 or 2 quick drops of red pepper sauce just to spice it up, the amount is up to you. Let it simmer on low, uncovered for at least 30 minutes. Stir it pretty often because of the sugar it can stick to the bottom.
Recipe 2: The same as above for the ground beef and onion. After returning to the sauce pan add, 1 can chicken gumbo soup(weird I know but trust me its good), 1/2 cup catsup, 3 TBSP. mustard and salt and pepper to taste. Do not add any water to the soup, just the whole can. Simmer for 30 minutes, give it a stir every so often.
I do this all in one pot so the clean up is minimal and it doesn't take a lot of time to make. I like to serve it on hamburger buns or biscuits along with a salad and some potato chips. Watermelon for dessert.
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK AND I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOUR RECIPE.
